High-integrity tubing connection with digital identification
The next-generation coupling combines high-integrity M2® sealing with RFID identification: every coupling receives a unique digital passport with a full history, and the tubing string gains complete traceability at every stage of operation. Lifecycle transparency means fewer failures and accurate cost planning.
The body is a standard API coupling (8rd, EUE), structurally unchanged. This ensures full compatibility with the existing stock and operating procedures.
A corrosion-resistant alloy (CRA) ring provides high seal integrity and resistance in CO₂ and H₂S environments.
Reliable protection of the J-area and thread connection, natural make-up torque feedback — as in M2®.
Installed with no drilling of the pipe body. Records the full lifecycle of the “coupling + pipe” connection: manufacture date, number of make-ups, operating conditions.
A ready-made answer to the upcoming 2027–28 digital equipment passport requirements.
8–10+ cycles with no loss of seal integrity — ideal for workover stock.
Data flows through middleware into ERP, maintenance systems and corporate AI models.
The RFID tag automatically accumulates data at every operation — make-up, workover, change of operating conditions. This is what a coupling digital passport looks like:
Well 4523 · depth 2,450 m · T = 87 °C · P = 245 atm · CO₂ = 12 % · H₂S = 85 ppm · salinity 185 g/l
4 make-ups · 1,240 hours · condition: normal

At every stage — from the mill to re-use — each “coupling + pipe” connection stays inside the digital loop. No data loss, no manual entry, no errors.
Up to 8–10+ make-and-break cycles and J-area corrosion protection — fewer tubing replacements, repairs and downtime.
Middleware and connectors feed data into ERP, maintenance systems and AI platforms with no custom development.
Clean structured data for every “coupling + pipe” connection — for failure prediction, material selection and procurement documentation.
Full compliance with the expected digital equipment passport requirements.
Temperature up to 250 °C, pressure up to 15,000 psi and above, CO₂ partial pressure. An individual material selection matrix for challenging wells.
The whole tubing string becomes manageable: from the mill to disposal — with no data loss and no manual records.
M2® Smart Connect turns scattered couplings and pipes into a digital asset with a full history — and gives you a tool to manage costs, failure rates and budget.
Instead of pooled tubing management with unpredictable emergency costs, Smart Connect delivers:
Connections are withdrawn on a planned basis, by accumulated run time.
Fewer workovers, lower operating costs.
Data on the real service life of pipe in different well conditions.
Accurate planning of repair and pipe procurement costs.
Tubing costs stop being a black box and become a manageable budget item.
We invite oil and gas companies to take part in pilot projects and pilot commercial operation of the technology. Our specialists will provide technical support and adapt the solution to the operating conditions of your specific field.
Technical presentation and concept discussion
Joint definition of technical requirements and applicability limits
Documentation and prototype manufacturing
Bench testing and a pilot field trial programme
Send us your well operating parameters — temperature, pressure, fluid composition and string operating features. We will select the optimal seal ring material and prepare technical recommendations and an individual commercial proposal.
